Fitness Trends for 2017
According to the results of the WORLDWIDE SURVEY OF FITNESS TRENDS FOR 2017 published by ACSM’S Health & Fitness Journal twenty main trends will be observed this year.
We have looked at the top five to see which ones were discussed the most in press over the last two months.
- Wearable technology (activity trackers, smart watches, heart rate monitors, GPS tracking devices, and smart eye glasses)
- Body weight training
- High-Intensity interval training
- Certified and experienced fitness professionals
- Strength training
It is interesting to compare the results of the survey conducted among 24000 fitness professionals and actual demands of the audience.
The survey results show that the most popular trend will be Wearable Technology, and the media analysis also shows that it is the most discussed topic in the press. However, the next most talked about trends are Strength Training and High Intensity Interval Training, with Body Weight Training having the least amount of mentions, even though it is predicted to be the second most popular trend in the survey.
Clearly, no one can predict the future, unless you are a psychic, but the survey and media analysis can still help fitness centers, personal trainers, fitness equipment developers and sellers with adjusting and choosing their business strategy.
