Inside Elon Musk’s PR efficiency
Elon Musk’s projects are known for having a massive media coverage. Let’s look at the PR efficiency of his projects as it is always good to compare yourself with the best.
We’ve decided to compare his major brands by the following three parameters: total number of articles, Social Index (SI) that shows level of audience engagement & PR Index (PRI) that helps to evaluate overall PR efficiency.
|Company||Articles||Social Index||SI for 1 article||PR Index||PRI on 1 Article|
Nevertheless, let’s get into more detail – let’s investigate how these indexes might change when counted per one article.The figures from the report are telling us that Tesla Motors, SpaceX and SolarCity show very impressive results and the performance of Hyperloop and OpenAI still has a room for an improvement. Almost half a million likes generated by the articles that mentioned Tesla Motors for this month alone – this is quite a superb level of audience engagement.
This allows for an interesting observation – OpenAI generates most likes for each article when compared to the rest of the list, meaning that each article about OpenAI creates a bigger level of audience engagement and generates more interest in general. When the same approach is applied to the PR efficiency Index, the best result goes to the Hyperloop brand, which allows to assume that it gets even more attention from the heavyweight media than Tesla Motors brand does.
Of course, specific figures do not tell the whole story. Effective PR is fully dependent on cumulative effect but this concept allows comparing your PR efficiency with any other company. What if you are not that far off Elon Musk’s PR Index?
