First annual Mediametric awards
The year is closing, so now is the high time to review it. 2014 was very rich on events, so we had a hard time figuring out which ones were really important, but we succeeded.
We have three categories: Publishers of the year, Topics of the year and Year in reviews.
Without further ado, it is time to announce the winners.
Publishers of the year
Note that dor this category we counted only news media, excluding viral websites that would obviously be on top of the list. First comes The Huffington Post, Fox News is the runner-up, NBC News is third. We’ve included most shared on Facebook, most tweeted and most commented articles for every winner.
Topic of the year
Ebola is far ahead of everyone else, and it is really no surpise – the virus claimed more than 7,000 lives this year.
We’ve also measured the average number of comments per article on each of the topics, and Scottish independence turned out to be a really discussion-provoking.
Year in reviews
For fun we calculated how well the reviews from various sites did on the social media, and Facebook is first.
Stay tuned and have fun!
